Data Stewardship Council
Established in 2008, the Data Stewardship Council serves as a forum to share and promote consistent and effective administrative data policies and best practices across the University.
To maintain the quality, security, and privacy of University data, the Council developed and manages the Data Usage Request process, which provides a framework for data sharing among units of the University. All inter-departmental sharing of administrative data should be documented with a completed and signed DUR form.
Data Stewardship Network
In 2014 the Council created the Data Stewardship Network as a platform for professional development, dissemination of best practices, and awareness raising campus wide. Although the academic and administrative units operate separately and may follow different policies and procedures, participation in quarterly Network meetings and in project-defined workgroups is encouraged as part of the overall effort to promote consistency across the University.
